The Federal Government as part of the Recovery Plan has included a $1,500 Energy Tax Credit for energy saving features or equipment for your home that may be used in 2009 or 2010. This tax credit may be used for several items but the one item that leads the list for energy savings for home owners is a new heating and cooling system.

Atlas Butler has a great program in place that matches the tax credit with another $1,500 cash rebate on a new qualified high efficiency heating and cooling system. That’s right, you can save $3,000 on a new heating and cooling system from Atlas Butler.

You will get the benefits of reducing your daily heating and cooling costs. You also reduce your carbon foot print in several ways. You can reduce the consumption of gas and electricity in your furnace.  Your air conditioner will use less electricity (reducing coal emissions) and your system comes with the new environmentally friendly R-410a refrigerant. This will reduce any worries over the coming years on skyrocketing prices of the R22 refrigerant that is most likely used in you the majority of home air conditioners today.

Home Energy Saver projects that the average 1,800 square foot home can save $682 per year with good energy saving practices with the upgrade of old furnaces leading the way with energy savings. You can go to their web site www.hes.lbl.gov and enter basic information about your home and get a base plan to work from.

If you would like to have a no cost and no obligation analysis of your home you can schedule to have one of our trained home energy advisors come to your home to help you put together a plan.
